Last evening at the city council meeting Tyler
VanWynsberg was sworn in as Kewanee’s newest Police Officer and Austin Stroud was promoted and sworn in as Sergeant. We are very happy to welcome a new officer and see one of our own move up the ranks! Congratulations to both of you! Welcome to the Blue Line Family Tyler.

These ladies are the inaugural recipients of the Orgullo Hispano Scholarship. These $1000 scholarships were awarded by the Kewanee Hispanic Heritage Committee as part of the Kewanee Commission on Human Relations. The Heritage Committee has received donations for their events and wanted to give back excess funds to the Hispanic Community. Students were asked to write an essay and winners were chosen from those. We are proud to have these ladies Itzel Rivas and Jzahbel Rivera as part of our community and wish them the best of luck in their futures.Congratulations!

Congratulations to our newly promoted and sworn in Fire Chief, Jacob Forney, Captain Joe Rediger and Lieutenant Andrew Welgat and Engineer,Shawn Frank. We are so proud of our Kewanee Fire Department. Our city has a great group of men on our department. They work hard which is symbolized by their professionalism to do and ability to do the job well.
