🦒 Page Turners Book Club: West with Giraffes 📚
Get ready for an unforgettable journey, Page Turners! This month, we are diving into West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge—an emotional, historical adventure inspired by the incredible true story of two giraffes that survived a hurricane at sea and embarked on a cross-country road trip during the Great Depression.

Part adventure story, part historical journal, and part coming-of-age tale, this moving book is perfect for animal lovers and history buffs alike.

Because the main library doors may be closed or locking up for the evening by the time you arrive, please enter through the elevator entrance located on 1st Street to head directly up to the 2nd floor community room!

📚💻 Road Scholar Online Lectures – June 2026 Lineup! 💻📚

Expand your horizons this month with a fantastic lineup of live, one-hour educational lectures! You can join us for a watch party in the Community Room to enjoy these programs with others, or sign up online to watch from the comfort of your own home. Each lecture features a live Q&A session at the end!

🌱 New Grab & Go Kits: Grass Heads! 🌱

Looking for a fun, DIY project to kick off June? Think of it like your very own homemade chia pet! Stop by the Kewanee Public Library District Youth Room to pick up our newest Grab & Go Kit for elementary-age children.

With this kit, kids can create a funny little character, give it some water, and watch a full head of bright green "hair" sprout right up! Once it grows, you can even give your grass head a haircut! ✂️🧑👨‍🦱

Looking for a cozy spot to work on your latest crafting project and chat with fellow makers? Join us for Creativity at the Carnegie, our monthly needlework meetup!

Whether you are a knitter, crocheter, embroiderer, or cross-stitcher—and whether you're a seasoned expert or just getting started—all fiber arts enthusiasts are welcome. Bring your current Work in Progress (WIP) and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of crafting and community.

Looking for a fun, interactive way to spark a love for reading in your little ones? Bring your babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to Story Time! It’s the perfect opportunity for stories, songs, and processing early literacy skills alongside caregivers.

We are doubling the fun! Join us twice a week in person:

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11:15 AM

🍂 After Summer Reading Program Ends on July 18th:
We will transition to Virtual Tuesdays and In-House Thursdays.

In-Person: Join us in-house on Thursdays at 11:15 AM.

Virtual Tuesdays: Don't fret! You can still catch us from home. On most Tuesdays, story times will be posted directly to our page and YouTube Channel so you can watch whenever it fits your schedule.

No registration is required—just bring your imagination and your favorite grown-up. We can't wait to read, sing, and learn with you!
