• Provide any other information relevant to their interest in serving the Village.
Candidates will speak in alphabetical order by last name unless another impartial order is established by the Village President.
Village Board Selection Procedure:
Following the candidate presentations, the Village Board will select a candidate using the following procedure:
1. Each Village Board member will vote for one candidate using a written ballot.
2. Each ballot will identify the Board member casting the ballot and the candidate receiving that member’s vote. The Interim Administrator/Clerk will publicly report the votes, and the ballots and results will be retained as part of the meeting record in accordance with Wis. Stat. § 19.88.
3. In accordance with Wis. Stat. § 17.24, the appointment must be approved by a majority of the members of the Village Board.
4. If no candidate receives the required majority on the first ballot, additional ballots may be conducted. After each ballot, the candidate(s) receiving the fewest votes shall be removed from consideration.
5. Voting will continue until one candidate receives the required majority or only two candidates remain.
6. If the final two candidates receive an equal number of votes, the tie will be resolved by drawing lots using a procedure modeled after Wis. Stat. § 5.01(4). Each tied candidate’s name will be placed on an identical piece of paper, folded in the same manner, and placed in an opaque container. The drawing will be conducted publicly during the meeting.
7. Following the selection process, the Village Board will consider a formal motion to appoint the selected candidate. The appointment must receive the majority vote required by Wis. Stat. § 17.24.
The appointed Trustee must take and file the required oath of office before beginning their official duties on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Residents interested in serving their community through this appointment are encouraged to submit their written notice of interest to Interim Administrator/Clerk Tammy Butz by the stated deadline of Noon on Monday, September 21, 2026.
