On March 30, 2026, Officer Roth and Officer Wheeler responded to a call involving an unresponsive resident who was not breathing. They immediately began CPR and used an AED, helping restore the patient’s pulse before fire personnel arrived and transported the patient to the hospital.

Their quick, decisive actions gave this individual a chance at survival and reflect the highest standards of service. We commend both officers for their outstanding, life-saving efforts and Chief Bishop awarded each of them with a Life Saving Award.

Dump Truck Traffic Through Kewaskum -

We have received a number of phone calls regarding the amount of dump truck traffic through the Village. We understand everyone's frustrations with this, but the Village is unable to restrict truck traffic on State and County Highways (Hwy 45, 28, H and S). The weight limits imposed on those highways are set by the State of Wisconsin.

We can enforce weight restrictions on all other Village streets, as we do have a 12,000-pound weight limit on those roads, however these dump trucks are hauling on Hwy 45 and Hwy 28 mainly.

Our officers are watching for speeding or other types of traffic laws with the increase in traffic through the Village.
