All of Wisconsin is at VERY HIGH fire danger as we head into the Easter holiday weekend. With low humidity and high winds in the forecast, it's critical that you do your part to prevent wildfires this weekend.

Burning permits are suspended across the DNR Fire Protection Area. Outside the DNR Fire Protection Area? Check locally for restrictions.

Any fire could quickly start and spread in these conditions. Avoid all burning, including campfires if possible, and be sure to extinguish and dispose of ci******es properly. Those venturing outdoors should also use caution with off-road vehicles or equipment that can create a spark and start a fire.

There have already been more than 200 wildfires reported in Wisconsin so far this year, burning over 450 acres.

Let's all make Smokey Bear proud.

A little heads up for tomorrow

Headed to the beach or out on the water tomorrow? If you are, use extra caution as gusty winds will create hazardous boating/swimming conditions. Minor lake shore flooding/erosion also possible. Visit weather.gov/grb for more info.

So much to cover in such little time. I admit this day snuck up on me. Today is July 3rd and the day of Kewaunee's Independence Celebration. In this post is the flyer for all of the events taking place at Lakehaven Hall, the parade route, and a reminder of the city ordinance prohibiting certain fireworks. Festivities start at noon. The parade starts at 6:30 pm. It looks like the weather is going to cooperate, and this is shaping up to be a great day in the City of Kewaunee. Everyone please be smart, be safe, and enjoy the celebration!!!
