Happy Thanksgiving from the Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks! We are grateful for our seven beautiful parks, protected coastlines, virgin hardwood hammocks, seagrass meadows, and so much more. But most of all, we are thankful for you! We are so grateful for your support in helping our beautiful Florida State Parks.

One of our biggest fundraisers for our parks is Lignumvitae Christmas. We are busy decorating the Matheson House for your arrival on Dec. 6th!

🎄 Tis the Season for the 126th Audubon Christmas Bird Count! 🐦

We welcome birders of all skill levels to join us for this long-standing tradition of community science and conservation. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just starting out, there's a place for you! Beginners will be paired with more experienced participants to help guide the way.

Participants will be assigned to individual or group sections to help cover the survey area. If you live within the count circle, you can also take part by doing a “backyard count” from the comfort of your home!

Join us at the Big Pine Key Library on December 9th at 5 PM to learn more about the history of the Christmas Bird Count and what to expect on count day.
