KEYS CO-HOSTS COUNTYWIDE CYBERSECURITY CHALLENGE

Keys Energy Services (KEYS), Nextgen Technologies, and Cyber Florida at the University of South Florida recently co-hosted the 2026 Keys Cyber Games. The event brought together Monroe County government agencies to defend against simulated cybersecurity attacks on Friday, June 12.

Participants sharpened their threat detection and response capabilities through hands-on experience in threat hunting, incident response, and network anomaly detection while simultaneously fostering critical inter-agency collaboration.

“This exercise gave participants a chance to experience real-world challenges in a controlled setting,” said Lynne Tejeda, General Manager & CEO of KEYS. “It’s an important step toward making our county more resilient to cyber threats.”

KEYS EMPLOYEES UNITE TO COMBAT FOOD INSECURITY IN THE LOWER KEYS

Keys Energy Services (KEYS) employees wrapped up three Days of Giving this week with the Star of the Sea (SOS) Foundation’s Food Pantry on Stock Island. They assisted with stocking shelves, helping customers select food items, and distributing meals through the Summer Food Service Program. Ahead of the volunteer event KEYS’ employees also organized a company-wide food drive to collect non-perishable goods to stock the pantry’s shelves.

“Helping the SOS Foundation feed local neighbors in need provided an incredibly impactful opportunity for the team to give back to the community we serve,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS General Manager & CEO.

KEYS’ Days of Giving was launched in 2023 and helps connect KEYS’ employees with local organizations in the Lower Florida Keys that require assistance with special projects and events. FLORIDA LEGISLATION PROTECTS UTILITY WORKERS

Florida has strengthened protections for Keys Energy Services (KEYS) crews by enforcing strict assault and roadside safety laws. Together, these laws ensure workers maintaining our critical infrastructure are protected from both physical harm and traffic hazards.

The Utility Worker Protection Act strengthens protections by enhancing criminal penalties for assault or battery against utility workers maintaining critical infrastructure. Additionally, Florida’s Move Over Act requires motorists to protect roadside crews by moving over one lane for stopped law enforcement, emergency, utility, and sanitation vehicles. If moving over is unsafe, drivers must slow to 20 mph below the posted speed limit. Compliance is mandatory and failure to do so can result in fines and license points.

"Our utility crews work in high-risk environments every day to maintain our system," said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO. "The Utility Worker Protection Act and the Move Over Act send a clear message, the safety of utility workers statewide is a top priority."
