On Friday, June 5th, members of the Key West Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, in collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, executed a search warrant at a residence on Laird St. The warrant was the result of information obtained regarding suspected drug activity at the location.
During the search, investigators recovered 16 grams of powder co***ne packaged in 14 individual bags, 103 doses of L*D, ecstasy pills, 62.8 grams of Psilocybin, 1.6 grams of powder Ketamine, 132.2 grams of Ma*****na and 10 Ma*****na plants under UV lights. The search also revealed $4,669.00 in suspected drug proceeds along with numerous scales and various other items indicative of narcotics distribution.
Philip Demena III, 43, and Erin Henry, 36, were taken into custody and charged with possession of co***ne with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a place of worship, 4 counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in L*D, production of ma*****na and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were booked into the Monroe County Detention Center.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
