Darren Horan for Monroe County School Board Dist. 1 Monroe County School Board Member - District 1 Keys born. Keys raised. Keys invested. He will dedicate his time on the School Board to do just that.

Darren was raised in the Florida Keys and attended public school, first starting at Sigsbee School and eventually graduating from Key West High School in 1997. Darren is a partner at Horan Law, LLP and co-owns several restaurants and a catering company. His wife, Jessica, is also a graduate of Key West High School and they have three (3) daughters: a 9-year-old at Poinciana Elementary, a 4-year-ol

d in pre-kindergarten and a 20-year-old who graduated from Key West High School in 2020 and now attends Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Darren made his decision to run for School Board because he believes that in order for children to succeed in the classroom, negative outside interferences should be kept as minimal as possible. Darren's community service work includes: Take Stock in Children (Mentor); Board of Directors for the Greater Key West Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Key West Military Affairs Committee; Vice-President of the Southernmost Seminoles Club; Coach (youth sports).

Now that the dust is settled and candidates have had time to breathe - I would be remiss if I didn't show my appreciation and respect to Ms. Gabrielle Brown. She has so much to be proud of (7,000 county-wide votes) and I hope that she knows how much I grew as a person because she "pushed" me during this campaign.

There are so many people to thank (aside from my "grandmother") that to do so on social media would be in poor taste. I will see each and every one of you, in person, and tell you how much I appreciate your trust in me.

With that, I look forward to the challenges ahead. And don't worry, I promise to control my sarcastic nature once I'm seated at the table..... maybe.
