We offer small classrooms for personalized learning, fostering curiosity, self-motivation, and respect in a supportive community. Monroe County's oldest public charter school, and the first charter school in Key West, Florida, May Sands Montessori School engages parents as partners to support the development of the whole child. The school facilitates Montessori pedagogy in a tuition-free setting a

nd serves students from pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade. The May Sands Montessori School is a public charter alternative to traditional education that provides tuition-free Montessori programming in Key West, Florida. Our school offers a child-centered Montessori curriculum within multi-age classrooms for students in their primary, elementary, and middle school years. We believe parent support is vital to the success of our programs. The May Sands Montessori School fulfills its mission by offering a rigorous yet developmentally appropriate curriculum, providing service to the community, and with a focus on peace education.
