🎉🚗 Big Habitat for Humanity milestone alert!

We’re excited to share that April was the highest-grossing month in Cars for Homes history for our world wide organization 🙌

Here’s what we accomplished together:

✨ 1,930 vehicles sold

✨ $2.6M+ in gross revenue generated for affiliates nationwide

✨ A record 58 vehicles sold for $5,000+ (love seeing that continued growth in vehicle values!)

✨ 377 affiliates received funding from vehicles sold during the month

This is such a strong reflection of the collective effort across the network—from outreach and donor conversations to local promotion.

👏 Huge congratulations to everyone who played a part in making April a record-breaking month!

Memorial Day weekend looked a little different at Eisenhower Apartments as the team from Hammerhead Termite & Pest Control rolled in and completed the long-awaited termite tenting treatment.
For months, residents have dealt with the frustrations that come with an ongoing termite problem. Thanks to this treatment, those tiny tenants have officially received their eviction notice.
A huge thank you goes out to Hammerhead for their professionalism, hard work, and coordination throughout the process. We are also incredibly grateful to the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, whose grant funding helped make this project possible.
Affordable housing isn't just about keeping a roof overhead. It's about making sure that roof - and the homes beneath it - remains safe, healthy, and well cared for. Thanks to partnerships like these, our residents can enjoy a little more peace of mind knowing this long-standing issue has finally been addressed.

🏡 Welcome Home, Kurt, Mecaya, and Eva! 🔑

Yesterday, we celebrate a very special milestone as Kurt, Mecaya, and their two-year-old daughter Eva closed on their Habitat home in the Lower Keys.

This moment is made even more meaningful by the fact that Kurt is a second-generation Habitat homeowner, demonstrating the lasting impact that affordable homeownership can have on families and future generations.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who helped bring this home to life. A special thank you to the dedicated teams from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Hemingway Home & Museum, whose hard work, generosity, and community spirit helped make this dream a reality.

Congratulations to the entire family as you begin making memories in your new home. Welcome home! ❤️🏡

Huge thank you to the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys and Shorty's Tree & Lawn Care, LLC for helping us move into the next phase of termite treatment at our Eisenhower property.

With tenting scheduled for May 25, Clifton and the crew from Shorty’s came out to cut down loose limbs and prep the property so everything will be ready to go. It may not be the glamorous side of affordable housing, but this kind of work is so important when it comes to protecting and maintaining long-term housing for the families who live here.

We are really thankful for community partners who continue to show up and help us tackle projects like this head-on. Seeing local businesses and organizations come together to support housing in the Keys is always something special to watch.

Now that we have settled from our Annual Gala. We would like to extend the sincerest, most heartfelt thank you to the young men of and Fairfield Prep for coming down to Big Pine Key to spend a half day building mailboxes for our future homeowners.

This project was incredible to watch, but even more inspiring when you realize what it represents: two schools, from two different states, coming together seamlessly to serve a shared purpose.

Thank you for your hard work, your teamwork, and the impact you’ve made on our community. 💙
