Hometown Key West Hometown! organizes and sponsors non-partisan, open-to-the-public political forums and campaign workshops for local Key West and Monroe County elections.

promotes the free expression and exchange of political viewpoints and ideas. To accomplish these goals, Hometown! provides opportunities to educate its members and the voters in Key West and the surrounding communities through candidate lectures, forums, debates, workshops and other political events. These forums, streamed live on YouTube, give candidates an opportunity to speak– and voters the op

portunity to actually meet the candidates, face-to-face, hear their ideas, and pick up their campaign literature. These enabling actions allow the voters to more fully consider the merits of the candidates and their proposals, and encourage good government through a fully transparent interchange of ideas. To carry out this mission, Hometown! encourages the citizens of Key West and Monroe County to fully exercise their rights of citizenship, including participation in the political life of their communities by being candidates for public office and to educate and involve themselves in community affairs. Hometown!, a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) Florida corporation, does not rate, endorse or contribute to candidates. does not participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office. In addition, members of the Board of Directors are not authorized in their official capacity to make public or media statements in support of, or in opposition to, a political campaign or candidate for public office.

The official ballot for the 2024 primary election will be set at noon on Friday, June 14, 2024, the last day interested parties can qualify to run for office.

At 5:00 pm that same day, Hometown! will present our signature MEET THE CANDIDATES event, the voters’ first opportunity to see and hear from the official roster of 2024 candidates.

This year's event will be at the Tennessee Williams Theater. Come to the College of the Florida Keys to meet your candidates and hear why they are running and why they want to represent you. Ask questions, shake hands, and pick up campaign literature and give-aways.

5:00 pm: Mingle with the candidates
5:30 pm: Candidate speeches
