Despite the silence from the volunteer board, we have been working vigorously to finish necessary repairs to the Schooner Western Union in Tarpon Springs before bringing the vessel back to Key West. A great deal of work and fundraising remains, but we are thrilled to be able to finish the work in the place where the ship was built!

Many of you have reached out to the Schooner Western Union to ask what her status is. The good news is that we are about halfway done with restoration efforts. The bad news is that we have not been able to raise all the necessary funds to complete the vessel. We have requested assistance from the State of Florida.
