Local business tax receipts and the second property tax installment payment are both due September 30. And don’t forget—vehicle registrations expire at midnight on the registered owner’s birthday.

🏆Five in a row! Our tradition of excellence in financial operations and innovation continues!

We are pleased to announce the Honorable Sam Steele accepted another Legacy Award for excellence in financial operations from the Florida Tax Collectors Association (FTCA) today at the annual Fall Education Forum in Orlando.

Tax Collector Steele and our team met the rigorous requirements of a five-person judging panel made up of government financial executives from across Florida. The panel examined the Monroe County Tax Collector’s financial operations and processes related to budgeting, customer focus, and technology innovation and automation. The judging panel also required a perfect financial audit clear of findings.

We’re proud of this achievement and grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Monroe County! 💙
