As we enjoy the end of summer and honor all the hardworking people of our community, we must recognize that the harder we work we are still not able to afford groceries, healthcare, and gas. Republicans have let down the working class and not kept their promise to fight inflation, provide a living wage, or make healthcare affordable. We must vote this Nov. for Democrats who will put the community first and stop corruption.

We are grateful for the wonderful work Key West Immigrant Support Network is doing in the community to support our immigrant neighbors. Read the Rolling Stone article, "They've Done Everything Right, And They're Still Being Detained" which details the harrowing experience of immigrant community and the terrible impact it's having on our local economy. KWISN is standing up for our community. It's time for us to do our part, and vote this November. Vote out every elected official that has condoned, funded, and ignored the cruel practices of ICE and CBP.

Rest in Power Gloria Steinem. We are grateful for everything Steinem did to bring equal rights to women everywhere. The fight continues. To honor her memory, we must vote this November!

"What homeowner doesn’t like the sound of a property-tax cut? More money in the bank account. A little breathing room.

Here’s the catch: Amendment 3 doesn’t make the cost of local government disappear. It changes who pays for it. The “tax cut” is likely to become a tax shift, the kind of decision we usually regret, like a drunk text or a bad karaoke video. But a constitutional amendment can’t be deleted. This one’s permanent — a face tattoo, not a haircut."
