Florida Republicans voted to put their property tax elimination scheme on the November ballot.

Here's what they're not telling you: before lawmakers scrambled to amend this bill, local governments were projected to lose $8.4 billion in revenue every single year. Counties alone would take a $6.4 billion hit by 2029. Firefighters warned of cuts up to 25%.

Fire stations. Public safety. Infrastructure. The critical services Florida families depend on every day are on the chopping block, all so Republicans can score a political win before November.

Their plan does nothing to address the affordability crisis or out-of-control property insurance costs. It’s an empty campaign promise that will blow a hole in our local governments’ budgets.
