Dear Parents and Guardians,

I trust this message finds you well. In light of some misinformation circulating on social media, I feel compelled to provide clarity regarding our graduation ceremony and associated activities for 8th-grade students.

It is imperative to understand that all students who fulfill the graduation requirements outlined by both The State of California and our District will participate in the graduation ceremony without incurring any expenses. Let me underscore that the District has never imposed any fees for attending the graduation ceremony.

Our students collectively engage in fundraising endeavors throughout the academic year to defray the costs associated with field trips and banquets. These fundraising efforts are instrumental in ensuring the affordability of these activities. However, I must clarify that the sole exception is the yearbook, for which a charge is unavoidable due to the requisite minimum order imposed by our yearbook supplier.

I want to emphasize the District's unwavering commitment to respecting the decisions made by both parents and students regarding their participation in these activities. While it is regrettable that we cannot cover the expenses for all 8th-grade activities as a district, please be assured that any student requiring support to partake in these activities will be accommodated.

The expenses linked to field trips, banquets, and yearbooks are factors beyond our immediate control. Nevertheless, as a district, we remain steadfast in our dedication to providing equitable opportunities for all students. Parents and students are welcome to opt for selective participation in activities, with the exception being the yearbook due to production constraints.

Should you have any further inquiries or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our site administration or the District. We value transparency and are committed to addressing any misinformation that may arise.

Stanislaus State congratulates more than 3,000 students who were named to the Spring 2023 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and register for and earn a minimum of 12 units of credit of graded coursework at the University.
