DEPARTMENT PROMOTIONS

Last night, October 1st, Mayor Rose Araneo and the Borough Council promoted four officers to their new ranks during the Borough Meeting and swore in a new Police Officer.

Captain Michael A Ferm was promoted to the rank of Chief. Chief Ferm is an established leader with 36 years of experience in law enforcement. His commitment to the Boro of Keyport is unwavering.

Detective Sergeant Joseph Rendina was promoted to the rank of Captain. Sergeant Stephen Wheeler Jr. was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Detective Eric Devlin was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Congratulations to each of them, and we wish them the best of luck in their respective roles.

Zachary Scully was sworn in as Patrol Officer, Scully is currently attending the Monmouth County Police Academy Basic Course for Police Officer. Welcome to the department, and we look forward to you serving alongside us.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Borough of Keyport for their continued support of Keyport Police Department. These promotions and the hiring of a new officer would not be possible if it wasn’t for the fact that they understand the importance of succession planning, making sure that when officers retire we fill those voids in order to continue running efficiently.
