Today, canine officers from across the state gathered at Believers Fellowship in Keyser, WV for a K9 legal seminar.

Church members generously provided breakfast before the training, followed by an informative presentation focused on legal updates and best practices for K9 operations.

We would like to extend our appreciation to:

• Attorney John Peters for conducting an outstanding and informative training.

• Trenly for providing K9 supply bags to nearly 100 officers in attendance.

• The Hotsinpiller Memorial Foundation for attending, sharing information about their mission, and for their continued support of law enforcement officers and K9 partners.

Events like this are invaluable in ensuring our K9 teams remain well-trained, informed, and prepared to serve their communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this training a success.

🐾 K9 Demonstration at the Mineral County Fairgrounds 🐾

On Tuesday, April 14th, deputies from the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department participated in a K9 demonstration hosted by the West Virginia Police Canine Association (WVPCA) at the Mineral County Fairgrounds.

Those in attendance were able to watch live demonstrations showcasing the capabilities of K9 teams in:
• Narcotic detection
• Explosive detection
• Apprehension techniques

These demonstrations highlight the extensive training, discipline, and teamwork between K9s and their handlers, and the important role they play in public safety.

We appreciate the WVPCA and all participating agencies for hosting a great event, as well as the community members who came out to support and learn more about K9 operations.
