Kiawah neighbors, an invasive hornet is spreading fast through the Lowcountry, and your help is needed!

The yellow-legged hornet threatens our native bee population and local agriculture. Already 264+ nests have been found in South Carolina in 2026 alone, and they're getting closer to home.

Walk your property, look for nests, and report any sightings to Clemson University immediately. For identification tips, photos, and the reporting form, visit https://kica.us/news/how-you-can-help-eradicate-an-invasive-hornet-new-to-the-lowcountry-that-threatens-our-bee-population-and-local-agriculture/.
