Last night, members of the Kiel Fire Department Ambulance Service took to the Kiel High School football field for our annual sports injury training.

Working alongside the Kiel Area School District Athletic Trainer, crews practiced the assessment, treatment, stabilization, and safe movement of athletes following injuries on the field. Training like this gives responders the opportunity to work through the same situations we may encounter during high school athletic events and helps ensure everyone is prepared to work together when an actual emergency occurs.

We were also joined by members of the New Holstein First Responders and Elkhart Lake First Responders. Our ambulance service responds into portions of both of their jurisdictions, making joint training especially valuable. Knowing each other's equipment, procedures, and capabilities before an emergency helps provide a more coordinated response when minutes matter.

Thank you to the Kiel High School Athletic Trainer, New Holstein First Responders and Elkhart Lake First Responders for joining us for another productive evening of training.
