Thank-you to KEEF for funding yesterday's 5th grade trip to Biztown! Before visiting, students learn about personal budgeting, resume writing, and job applications. They then apply for, interview, and are hired for specific roles within the town, ranging from CEOs and CFOs to sales managers, accountants, and city officials. Finally, during the immersive day-long visit, students work at life-sized, sponsored storefronts. They run businesses, secure business loans, process payroll, pay taxes, and even open bank accounts to manage their own debit cards. The simulated town even features local governance—students register to vote, draft laws, and even campaign for and elect a town mayor! What an experience!
