Kilgore Fire Department. Kilgore, TX
Fireman Frederick collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack while on the scene of a reported fire. Fireman Frederick was the driver of the firetruck that answered the reported boat fire four blocks from the fire station. The Fire was out by the time firefighters arrived at the scene. Fireman Frederick was talking to the Battalion Chief when he collapsed. He was transported to Roy H. Laird Memorial, where he was pronounced dead.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop later this afternoon and move rapidly south and east through the Four State Region through the late evening hours. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat, followed by a large hail threat. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

As of 11:00 am, an update shows less than 50 customers in Kilgore are still experiencing a power outage.

SWEPCO is reporting a power outage affecting over 1,000 customers in the northwestern portion of Kilgore. There is an unknown cause or ETA for service restoration at this time. Please do not call into Kilgore Police Dispatch regarding power questions unless you have an emergency. Refer to SWEPCO for power restoration.
