Last evening we held the Annual Dare GOP Lincoln Reagan. We took this opportunity to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States - the greatest nation in the world. We hope that everyone had as good a tie as we did. We had the hardest working, most generous, and the craziest banquet committee ever. Thanks to Margarette Umphlett, Phyllis Barnes, Michele Plunkett, Susan Bothwell, Donna Bissell, and Judy Carter. What a team. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event so special. Thanks to Sheriff Doug Doughtie, NCGOP state chairman, Jason Simmons, State Auditor, Dave Boliek, Lauren Womble, and the best host ever, Senior Resident Superior Court Justice, Andy Womble. What a night!

Today was the District convention for the newly organized 1st District. 189 seated delegates, with approx 25 guests. It was a packed house. Dare County was well represented with 17 delegates, and Dare featured prominently featured - Mark Bissell opened the convention with the National Anthem, Judy Carter was convention secretary, Carole Warnecki was credentials chair, and Jordan Hennessy was resolutions chair. Convention over, now it is time to get to work. D1 has a great opportunity to make some history and flip D1 after 144 years of Democrat representation. Get ready to rumble, grass roots.
