Little Missouri is a remote park surrounded by unique terrain and history.
Explore areas like: Killdeer and the killdeer mountains, Newtown, Watford City, Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Medora.

Assist our team with welcoming our visitors, maintaining campground, exploring the trails and more.

The 95-Day Window Calendar is here! Monday, Feb. 9 marks the first day you can start making campsite reservations for the 2026 summer season in ND state parks.

Campsite reservations can be made 95 days before arrival, so those booking on Feb. 9 can make a reservation for a May 15 arrival.

Lake Sakakawea State Park is seeking a full-time Park Ranger to join our team. This role blends facility maintenance, visitor assistance, rule enforcement, and team support to ensure a high-quality experience for all.

We’re seeking a service-driven individual with a passion for environmental stewardship and the ability to manage daily operations, support staff, and engage the public.

On-site housing is provided with this position, and the Park Ranger is expected to reside within the park while on call or duty to support operations.

Team members are working on sections of EN trail. This work includes the usage of motorized machines. For your safety and the safety of our team members, we ask that visitors stay on the T, TH, and I trailhead and avoid connecting to the EN trailhead this week.
