Today, Bell County Veteran Service Office joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families forever changed, and the countless Americans who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.

For many of our Veterans, September 11 is deeply personal. We recognize the sacrifices made by those who served in defense of our nation and remember those who never returned home. May we continue to honor their courage, their service, and their sacrifice. Not only today, but every day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The Bell County Veteran Service Office Financial Assistance Application is now available.
This financial assistance program is made possible through funds generously awarded to our office by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA). We are grateful for TVC’s continued support of veterans and their families in our community.

Applications may be picked up in person at the Bell County Veterans Service Office or printed online from our website:

Financial Assistance Office Hours:
Monday – Thursday
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Closed for lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

APPLICATION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Completed applications must be submitted in person to the Veteran Service Office Grant Financial Administrator during office hours. Our Veteran Service Officers cannot accept application submissions.
All required documentation listed on the application must be included at the time of submission.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. If any required documentation is missing, the application cannot be submitted and will be returned to the applicant for completion.
We strongly encourage applicants to carefully review the application and required documentation checklist before coming to the office.
Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee financial assistance. Assistance is subject to eligibility, demonstrated need, program requirements, and available grant funding.

Bell County Veterans Service Office, in partnership with the Bell County Veterans Treatment Court, has proudly accepted funding awarded through the Texas Veterans Commission’s Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.
These funds will help bridge a critical gap in our Bell County veteran community by providing much needed financial assistance to local veterans and their families. We are incredibly thankful to the Texas Veterans Commission for its continued support of Texas veterans and our local community.

Bell County Community, we have a Veteran needing a washing machine and another needing a dryer. Please let us know if you have either or both that you want to donate. I regretfully must inform you that there is an unaccompanied burial taking place in your community on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026 at 1100h (11:00AM). The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen Texas will conduct an unaccompanied Veteran burial for Corporal Donald Ray Simons, U.S. Army. Born on September 18th, 1936, Donald Simons served in the United States Army from July 18th, 1958, to July 17th, 1961.



CPL. Simons will receive military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the Veterans Land Board On-Site Representative will accept the United States flag on Mr. Simons’s behalf.



The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind. Please help us spread the word with your constituents and ensure that this Army Veteran is not buried alone. If you have the opportunity, please come out and attend.

We regretfully must inform you that there is an unaccompanied burial taking place in your community on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 at 1100h (11:00AM). The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Kileen Texas will conduct an unaccompanied Veteran burial for Specialist Albert Fountain King Jr., U.S. Army. Born on January 24th, 1943, Albert King served in the United States Army from May 12th, 1961, to April 27th, 1964.



SPC. King will receive military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the Veterans Land Board On-Site Representative will accept the United States flag on Mr. King’s behalf.
