Even though they are gone, they are never forgotten.

Every unit in the Killeen Fire Department fleet has a specific number. Killeen Fire Engine 4 is designated as No. 234 — the same number as the badge of our fallen brother in blue, Bobby Hornsby.

His memory will forever be carried in our hearts, and his legacy will never be forgotten.

There is a large flame from a controlled event on the military installation. This event is for scheduled maintenance. Crews have gone to confirm it is under control and poses no hazard to the City of Killeen. This flame can be seen from very far away. Please be aware it is not inside the City.

The Killeen Fire Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the owner and staff of Ashton Automotive Repair & Service for their generosity and support. They graciously provided a Rudy’s lunch for the 28 firefighters who responded to the fire at their business on February 1st, 2026. We are truly grateful for their kindness and partnership with our department!

Road closure notice!
Chaparral from Rosewood to Stillhouse Lake Road is closed. The hill is covered in ice and we have 6 vehicles stuck down in the ravine. All involved refused transport and have been given rides home.

🚒🚑🚓 Crews are out steadily working tonight. Current road conditions are making responses tougher and increasing response times. 18 degrees out and feels like 6 degrees with the wind chill. Please avoid any unnecessary travel. Thank you KPD for helping secure the scene at the fire and keeping traffic routed well on the accidents.
