Killingworth will be one of the many towns across the nation to have a simultaneous public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8th! The significance of the date is that it was the first date that the Declaration was read in public in 1776. This is an initiative of the Hawai'i America250 Commission, who chose the time of 6pm Eastern. It is anticipated that all states and territories will participate! Here is a map, with locations still being added: https://hawaiiamerica250.org/reading-locations
Join the KHS at Killingworth Town Hall on Wednesday, July 8. We will gather at 5:45 for some introductory remarks, and the reading will begin at 6:00.
