Your Voice Matters: Help Strengthen Flood Preparedness for the Town of Kilmarnock
Join us at an upcoming workshop to help shape the Town of Kilmarnock Flood Resilience Plan. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 30th in the Small Meeting Room of the Lancaster
Community Library, at 16 Town Centre Drive. The workshop will begin with a brief presentation
providing an overview of flood risks and history in Kilmarnock, the planning process, and how
community input will be used to guide decision-making.
Attendees can engage with interactive stations designed to gather input, including sharing past flood experiences, identifying flood-prone areas, and offering feedback on potential solutions and priorities for the Town to consider.
The Town of Kilmarnock is developing a Flood Preparedness Plan with support from the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF), administered by Virginia Department of Recreation and Conservation, with the goal of improving understanding of flood risks, reducing impacts, and identifying strategies that strengthen community resilience for both current and future flood events. Your perspective is important, as input from residents and business owners will help build a safer, more prepared community!
