Our Story
We are actively recruiting to fill positions in our volunteer membership. You can become an Active or Associate Member. Active would be more of a full time member and Associate would be more on the part-time basis with limited requirements to be met. You do not have to have any previous or current training to join our organization. We will train you in the area you wish to excel in. We are currently seeking members to fill the positions of:
3rd/Attendant - Assist the EMT in patient care/cleanliness of ambulance and restocking of supplies.
Driver - Take an approved Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and gain your certification to drive emergency vehicles.
EMT- Emergency Medical Technician - This is a certification that must be current in order to provide a certain level of care to a patient. Current state levels - EMT, EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate and Paramedic.
It is very important to know that all positions are equally important and need to be filled to accomplish our mission.
Being a volunteer organization our main source of income to pay for operational costs come from donations. A new cardiac monitor normally costs $40,000. A new ambulance is around $300,000. If it wasn't for the support and donations from the community we would not be able to provide the great services that we currently provide. We urge the community to always consider donating to your local volunteer rescue squad, whether it is $5 or $100, it all goes to providing a life sub-staining service to the community.
If you are interested in membership with our organization please feel free to stop by our building at 61 Harris Rd. In Kilmarnock (Beside the Hospital) and pick up an application or send us a message on Facebook.
If you are interested in donating to our organization you can either mail in at P.O. Box 333 Kilmarnock, VA 22482 or stop by in person. Best thing of all, when you donate you can also use it as a tax write off. Checks or Money order are preferred.
