Thank you to everyone who attended the 2018 Political Forum. If you were unable to attend, below is the speech I gave.
Who am I:
I have called Kimball home for 25 years. I have worked at the Kimball Police Department, Kimball Hospital, and the past 15 years at Cabela’s Corporate Office
My Family consists of:
· Fiancé Robert Hinton of Kimball
· Children - Ashley age 19, Grant age 16, Noah age 3, and four step children
· Parents - Tom and Karen Hewitt of Kimball
· Sister - Brandi who is a Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce stationed in San Antonio, TX with 19+ years of service
· Brother - Chad of Fort Collins, CO
Why I am running:
County Clerks are generally responsible for maintaining records of all governing body transactions including resolutions and ordinances. They are responsible for keeping records of deeds, marriage licenses, and most other public records.
Another major duty of many elected County Clerks is that of receiving all nominations and petitions for elections. The Clerk also is responsible for preparing ballots, procuring, maintaining voting machines, recruiting, training poll workers, and the conduct of all elections.
The County Clerk is responsible for keeping records, resolutions and ordinances adopted by the Board of County Commissioners as well as serving as the secretary to the commission.
My desire to run for County Clerk is to provide Superior customer service which will promote public confidence, education, and insure the highest possible degree of integrity and honesty of the County's election process. I believe my experiences gained working for Cabela’s will provide me with several important attributes that I will bring to the position of County Clerk, if elected.
My skillsets include:
· Leadership
· Motivation
· Proactive
· Organized
· Multi tasker with high level attention to detail
· Networker
· Eager to serve the Kimball County Community
· Promote a positive and professional atmosphere within the County Clerk’s office and throughout the courthouse.
· Worked with a diverse group of people
· Certified in process improvement – Six Sigma
What I hope to achieve:
I will strive to provide responsive, efficient, and cost-effective service to customers while maintaining the highest degree of respect for individuals, fairness, public trust, and excellence in performance. Such service is balanced to reflect compliance with statutory requirements and the needs of customers.
Because I am a long time resident of Kimball I will represent the people of the county as an embedded member.
If elected as County Clerk, I will uphold my duties as well as listen to opinions, communicate, serve, and energetically represent my fellow residents of Kimball County.
🔴 I would welcome the current County Clerk’s (Cathy Sibal) mentorship if I am elected as County Clerk.
⚪🔵 I appreciate your support as well as your vote on May 15 in the primaries.
