Kimball Sports Boosters hosted its annual 12U softball tournament on May 30 at the high school.

Congratulations to Kimball's 12U Blue team that went 5-0 on the day, earning 1st place in the gold division, while Kimball's 12U Gold squad placed 1st in the bronze division.

The Cubs will host its annual 10U softball tourney tomorrow, May 31, at the high school.

Way to go Cubs!

Congratulations to the following athletes who punched their ticket to the 2026 State Track & Field Championships next week!

The 4x400 Relay of Ava Holmgren, Emma Wirz, Miley Kuechle, and Hope Kuechle placed 2nd with a time of 4:08.57.

Hope Kuechle placed 1st in the 400 with a time of 57.97 and 2nd in the 200 with a time of 25.75.

Emma Wirz placed 4th in the triple jump and hit the state qualifying standard of 35’ 2”.

4x800 Relay - Ava Holmgren, Brooklyn Molitor, Addy Stommes, Kynlee Bischof 6th

High Jump - Kendra Schutz 7th, Miley Kuechle 8th

Congratulations to the 2026 Kimball Area Softball team that finished Runner-Up in the Section 6AA Tournament. The Cubs fell short to Cathedral on May 28 by a score of 2-11. Kimball finished the season 23-5 overall and a perfect 14-0 in the CMC for their 4th straight conference title.

Congrats to the seven seniors who completed their prep careers today on the diamond: Abby Fischer, Claire Hemmesch, Riley Fischer, Baylie Winter, Kiley Schindele, Lilli Krippner and team manager Lydea Loehrer.

Way to go Cubs!

Kimball Softball held on for a 5-4 victory over Melrose on May 27 in the Section 6AA semi-final elimination game at CSB.

Junior Claire Maus started in the circle and threw 5 2/3 innings before senior Riley Fischer came in for relief for the Cubs.

Kimball will return to the College of St. Ben's tomorrow, May 28, to face Cathedral in the Section 6AA Championship game at 2:00 pm. Kimball will need to defeat the Crusaders in back-to-back games to earn a trip to the State tournament. Let's pack the stands and support our Cubs!

Kimball Softball played evenly against Cathedral through five and a half innings on May 26 in Section 6AA action.

Senior Riley Fischer put the Cubs on the board with a solo homerun in the top of the 4th inning to knot the playoff game at 1-1. The #1-ranked Crusaders erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to stay undefeated in Section play and advance to the Championship game on May 28.

The Cubs will return to the College of St. Ben's tomorrow to face Melrose at 4:00 pm in an elimination tilt.
