***Update 6/5/26 @ 2100 hrs***

Telephone carriers have reported that services for calling 911 have been restored. Preliminary testing has confirmed this. 911 operations have returned to normal.

If you continue to experience problems with normal telecommunication issues aside from calling 911, please contact your service provide for additional information.

Thank you to our EMS and Fire Fighters for staffing their halls during this outage.

Chippewa County Central Dispatch is aware of an intermittent and widespread phone outage affecting the South and East sides of the county.

Due to this outage, some citizens may experience degraded service or no service at all.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have communicated with the first responder agencies in those locations to assist with emergency notifications and emergency service requests. Should you find yourself unable to access 911, you may go to your nearest Fire/EMS Hall. These locations will be staffed 24/7, and responders will be able to relay your emergency to the dispatch center by radio.

The communications carrier has advised that additional resources are en route to troubleshoot and repair. There has been no ETA provided.

We will update as we receive additional information.

The Kinross Township Fire Department will be filling pools in the month of June. Our availability is every Tuesday and Wednesday for the month, with time slots of 10am, 12pm, and 2pm. You must call the Kinross Township Hall to schedule your time and date, their number is 906-495-5381.
July 1st is the last date for pool fills. Thank you!

Kinross Charter Township is seeking professional services in developing a Master Plan and associated Zoning Map.

The Township’s existing Master Plan and Zoning Map were developed in 2009; accordingly, both are extremely outdated. The Township seeks a streamlined document, which is easily understood by the public, while addressing current and future planning issues.

Proposals are to address, at a minimum, the following:

· Estimated project timeline
· How soon can the project begin, once a contract is awarded
· Professional references, for similar projects
· Cost Estimate
· Brief biographies of key project personnel
