Position: Kinross Township Zoning Administrator

Hours: This is a part time position and hours will vary.

Compensation: $11,400. annual salary

Responsibilities: This position is primarily tasked with enforcing ordinances within Kinross Charter Township, reviewing applications related to activities within the township that fall within zoning regulations (i.e. quarry permits, building permits, fence permits, etc.), and communicating with the Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as other township officials.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
A general knowledge of Kinross Charter Township Ordinances.
Communication skills
Conflict Resolution skills
Computer skills

Upon hiring, a training course will be provided in early 2027. This training will take place both in person and online through Michigan State Extension. Applicants should be comfortable taking a course online.

Kinross Township is seeking members of the community to attend an informational meeting to organize a Neighborhood Watch. The meeting will take place at the Kinross Township Hall at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Please join us in helping to create an organized group of local residents who work together with law enforcement to improve neighborhood safety. The decision to move forward with the Neighborhood Watch will be dependent upon community response and participation.
