Summer Mother/Son Book Club
The goal of this program is to encourage shared reading and meaningful conversation between mothers and sons in relaxed, engaging format.
Participants: mothers and sons. Books geared toward ages 8-12, but all ages can participate through books, read-aloud books, or audiobooks.

Sandra brought much joy to the library, its patrons, and the other volunteers/staff. We will always remember Sandra’s love for books, for helping patrons, and her joy with children story times, Festival of Tables, and other events.
Her dedication and friendship will be deeply missed.

Grow a Reading Star this summer . . .
Summer vacation! It's a time for backyard barbeques and swimming pools, for playing with friends and spending time with family. For kids who are in the habit of reading for pleasure, summer is also a time for books. For kids who are not in the habit of reading for pleasure, they risk summer learning loss. Summer learning loss is a well-documented phenomenon that goes by many names, including "summer setback" and "summer slide."

Over the next few weeks, we will post information provided by the North Dakota State Library and the Institute of Reading Development.
