The Kindred Park Board oversees the management and maintenance of two parks, a public swimming pool, and a community center. The park features an assortment of playground apparatus, swings, a basketball court, and a picnic shelter. ertson Park is located on the east end of town, directly adjacent to Kindred's newest housing development, Newport Ridge. Gilbertson Park features a softball field, picnic shelter, and an abundance of green space ideal for a family outing. Kindred Public Swimming Pool hosts open swim from 1:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:30 Mon-Fri 1:00-6:00 Sat and Sun (weather permitting). The pool also offers family swim nights Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00-7:00. Swimming lessons are offer three times throughout the summer to ages 4 and up. And don't forget, the pool is available for private parties, too! The Veterans Memorial Community Center is available for private events, such as fund raising suppers, birthday and graduation parties, fitness and dance classes, estate auctions, and much more. It is located in the southeast corner of City Park right along County Highway 15. Kindred Parks Recreation offers T-ball for all children ages 5 -7 and Girls Fastpitch Softball for ages 8-18.
