Best Starts for Kids invests in Kaleidoscope Play and Learn (KPL) groups across King County! KPL groups are free drop-in programs for caregivers with children 0-5 years old. Families learn about healthy child development while singing, reading, and playing together.

In partnership with Denise Louie Education Center weekly KPL groups are offered on Thursdays, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm The Seattle Public Library Northgate Branch and Fridays, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at the Columbia City Branch.

More than 200 young leaders came together on a sunny Saturday in May at the The Museum of Flight to build a shared vision of youth leadership in King County. They shared learnings, built camaraderie, and provided input on the development of a Youth Commission, a leadership body recommended in the King County Youth Bill of Rights, which would serve as an advisory body to the County Executive and Council on issues impacting young people.

Register for the first-ever King County Youth Leadership Summit on May 30! Designed by and for young people, this summit is for leaders and aspiring changemakers ages 14-24 to gather, network, and engage in peer learning.

We are also looking for breakout session presenters! Youth, youth-serving organizations, or collaborative partnerships between youth and organizations are encouraged to submit proposals by April 27.
