Ready to find out if you're truly outstanding in your field? Enter the Great KG Scarecrow Showdown! 🍂

We're challenging all residents, businesses, and organizations to design and build a scarecrow based on the King George Fall Festival theme, "America the Beautiful - Celebrating 250 Years" or based on the fall/autumn season or based on King George County. Let's fill our community with amazing, one-of-a-kind scarecrow creations! 🌾

Ready to enter? Here’s what you need to know:

🏆 The winner(s) will be announced by Oct. 13 and will receive an item commemorating their accomplishment.

On Tuesday, the King George Board of Supervisors proudly recognized Patti Norris Barker for 32 years of outstanding service to the service authority and the King George community.

Throughout her career as Executive Assistant, Patti provided invaluable support to leadership, staff, the Board of Directors, and the thousands of customers served by the authority. Her professionalism, reliability, and extensive institutional knowledge helped provide continuity through decades of growth, change, and leadership transitions.

We are incredibly grateful for Patti’s dedication, loyalty, and commitment to public service. Her contributions have left a lasting mark on the King George County Service Authority and the community it serves.

School is almost back in session, and we have a fun activity for our King George students!

Are you or someone you know creative? Design the "I Voted" sticker for the November 2026 election!

We're looking for stickers that represent the theme of "250 Years of Freedom, Democracy & Community." Show us what 250 years of freedom, democracy, and community means to you through a design that celebrates America's past, honors the present, and looks forward to the future.

Who can enter?
All K-12 students in King George County.

What to include?
-Original artwork
-A 3 inch circular design
-The words "I Voted"

Winner(s) design(s) will:
-Be printed on thousands of stickers and given to voters for the election
-Be framed and presented to the winner(s), as well as another framed design displayed in the Registrar's Office

Deadline to submit is September 9 by 5 p.m.

The August 4, 2026, Republican Primary Election has three early voting days left—Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

📆 August 1 EARLY VOTING SATURDAY
Early voting Saturday at King George County Registrar Office in Suite 102 at 10459 Courthouse Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

📆 August 4 ELECTION DAY
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find your polling place at kinggeorgecountyva.gov/pollingapp.

Please note that during early voting, the Revercomb Administration Building (10459 Courthouse Drive) is considered a polling location. This means the same election rules apply to everyone entering the building, regardless of which office or department they are visiting.

To ensure a safe and orderly election, the following are strictly prohibited:
🚫 Loitering or congregating.
🚫 Distributing or showing campaign materials, including flyers, buttons, hats, or shirts. These items may only be worn while actively casting your vote.
🚫 Asking for votes or attempting to influence how a person votes.
🚫 Interfering with a voter or election official.
🚫 Getting a position where you can see another person's ballot.
🚫 Possessing a firearm.
Violations are classified as Class 1 misdemeanors, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. A list of these prohibitions is posted at the building's front entrance.

The upcoming King George Board of Supervisors meeting will be on Monday, August 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Sheriff's Office (10445 Government Center Boulevard).

The date change is due to the primary election. The board regularly meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

As a reminder, all board of supervisors and board of directors meetings will be held at the multipurpose room at the Sheriff's Office (10445 Government Center Boulevard) through the end of August due to the HVAC unit needing repairs in the board room at the Revercomb Administration Building.

New Circuit Courthouse Electronic Device Policy

Visitors are now permitted to bring cell phones and other portable electronic devices into the King George County Courthouse. To help maintain a safe and respectful environment, please follow these guidelines:

• Put all devices on silent (no vibration) before entering the courthouse.
• Be prepared for security screening by the Sheriff's Office.
• Phone calls may only be made in areas designated by the Sheriff's Office.
• Photos, videos, audio recordings, and live streaming are not permitted anywhere inside the courthouse.
• If you are entering the Circuit Court courtroom, all electronic devices must be completely turned off and put away out of sight unless you have received prior approval from the presiding judge.

Please note that the General District Court and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court may have additional courtroom-specific requirements.

Devices used in violation of this policy may be confiscated.
