As part of our continued commitment to providing the highest level of pre-hospital care, Upper Merion Fire & EMS is now carrying pre-hospital whole blood. 🩸Blood donated at drives like this helps ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients suffering from severe trauma, major blood loss, and other life-threatening emergencies. Your donation truly has the power to save lives, possibly right here in our own community.

Earlier this week, officers of our department traveled to Life Line Emergency Vehicles in Summer, Iowa to complete the final inspection of our two new ambulances. These ambulances were purchased through 10-8 Emergency Vehicle Services, and we are excited to bring them to our community.

Over the next several weeks, we will take delivery of both units and begin the important work of stocking them with equipment, completing the licensing process, and preparing them for service. We look forward to placing these new ambulances in service to continue providing the highest level of emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of Upper Merion Township.

As we celebrate the birth of our nation, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July filled with family, friends, and community.

If you’re planning to enjoy fireworks, please remember these important safety tips:

🎆 Follow all local laws and regulations.
🎆 Keep a safe distance from fireworks once lit.
🎆 Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
🎆 Have a bucket of water or garden hose readily available.
🎆 Never attempt to relight a malfunctioning firework.
🎆 Soak used fireworks in water before disposal.

The best way to enjoy fireworks is by attending a public display conducted by trained professionals.
