Let’s Flashback to an old post of mine on Triggers…

Warnings Signs for PTSD/CPTSD Triggers

This one’s important, identifying that someone is triggered/experiencing a flashback can help reduce the severity, prevent escalation or just hold space for the person stuck in the past.

Today I exhibited all of these as well as physical symptoms including shaking and crying. You see, for me, I wasn’t present in the here and now. I was triggered into an emotional flashback. I was scared, terrified and couldn’t do anything to stop it.

You feel completely vulnerable and have zero control. Whilst most of us own our triggers, the way someone reacts to them can make a huge difference to the experience and the outcome. Awareness matters. Thank you to those of you who support others. You matter more than you know. 🫶🏻

The Lindsay Clancy trial is teaching us all an important lesson,
ya never know.
It's a terrifying place to live. Terrifying for family and friends who often struggle with feeling 'not enough'. Not enough to help, not enough to make the person they love BELIEVE their loved. Terrifying for the those of us who live in the trenches, feeling haunted and hunted all the time. Running away from ourselves is exhausting and futile.
