Mr. Smith was taken into custody during the early morning hours of 01/01/24 without incident.

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office is requesting your assistance in locating James Monroe Smith. James has several active felony warrants and is known to frequent Arlington, Pretty Prairie and other southern areas of Reno County.

James is also suspected of recently committing aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, flee and elude and interference with Law Enforcement. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of James Monroe Smith, do not approach and please call 911. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers of Reno County at 620 694-2666 or 800 222-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest of a felony offender.
