✈️ Calling all pilots and aviation enthusiasts!

Join us at Kingman Airport – Clyde Cessna Field (9K8) on Saturday, September 26 for the Kingman Aviation Community Lunch & Learn!

Come early for burgers and hot dogs at Tango Lima Sierra, hosted by the Kansas Pilots Association, followed by updates on where Kingman Airport is today and where we’re headed. The afternoon will include a program on Non-Towered Airport Flight Operations, with FAA WINGS credit available.

And make a day of it! Cessna Fest will be happening in historic downtown Kingman before and after the Lunch & Learn, with complimentary transportation between the airport and downtown.

❗Notice: Vance Brothers will be in town this week to start our 2026 street sealing. The project will include sealing the roads at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Riverside Park, and a clean-up of Sydney, North Walnut, and Annadale Streets.

🚧Access to Walnut Hill Cemetery will be limited starting the afternoon of August 12th until the crew is finished. The sealing crew will then move to Riverside Park, where park access will be limited Thursday/Friday.

🚗We would kindly ask to avoid street parking on Sydney, Walnut, Annadale, and surrounding streets for street sweeping. The areas affected here are the streets that were sealed last year in 2025.

This is just an informational meeting between the developer and City Leadership and no actions will be taken.

🌊 Kingman County Property Owners: Draft Floodplain Maps Available for Review 🌊

The Kansas Department of Agriculture – Division of Water Resources (DWR), FEMA, Kingman County, and local officials have completed draft updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for portions of Kingman County.

If you received a notification letter, it means the proposed floodplain mapping may affect your property. These updates reflect new studies and more current information than the maps that have been in use since 1999.

Representatives from DWR, FEMA, engineering consultant Benesch, Kingman County, and the City of Kingman will be available to:

✔️ Help you determine how your property may be affected
✔️ Receive public comments
✔️ View the draft maps using on-site computer workstations

If your property is located near a creek, river, or other flood-prone area, we encourage you to review the proposed maps and attend the open house if you have questions.
