Did you know our Friends of the Library group sponsors an annual bookmark Contest? (They also meet every other first Friday of the month, and are a wonderful group of volunteers.)

Submit your artwork for a chance to be our book mark that we hand out for the rest of the year. Entry sheets are free and are distributed in Summer Reading Packets or available to pick up from the library any time we are open!

First up, our prize raffle!

Each person signed up for the Summer Reading Program will be challenged to read a certain number of books, read for a certain number of hours, or complete tasks on a BINGO card.

Each participant 18 and under will recieve an Exploration Place pass and a free sno cone just for reaching the first milestone. Small prizes will also be given for reaching further milestones.

AND each milestone is also rewarded with a chance to win larger prizes at the end of July.

AND we're keeping track of all participants reading, so our top Children's readers in three age categories will recieve Top Reader Prizes!

AND (if that wasn't enough) we'll tabulate all hours read by the community as a whole through the summer. If enough hours are turned in, the community gets rewarded (more on that later this week!)

Join us this week at the library as we exchange plants from our gardens!

As we begin working in our gardens and dividing those perennials that keep trying to take over the world (Bee Balm and Mint - we're looking at you!), consider sharing some of your plant divisions with your fellow gardeners! Bring your perennials, herb cuttings, extra vegetable starts or even houseplant cuttings to share in this casual plant swap! It's a great way to experiment with new plants in your garden as well as connect with others. Open to both new and experienced gardeners.

In April we challenged LEGO builders to create thier best robots. "Work in Progress" was voted as the community favorite this month. It's been saved in our trophy case, but it won't be on display for too much longer...

Later this month our trophy case will reset and it will be full of summer reading prizes! Stay tuned!
