🇺🇸 40 Years of Dedicated Service! 🇺🇸
The Weapons Repair Department (Code 700) recently hosted a farewell luncheon to honor and celebrate the retirement of Mr. Carmine "Speedo" Spedaliere, marking the culmination of an outstanding 40-year career of combined military and federal civilian service.
Carmine’s decorated career of service began in 1986 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy
Over his 20-year military career, he advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer (Fire Control Technician, Submarine Service).
His sea tours took him aboard the ballistic missile submarines USS Daniel Boone (SSBN 629), USS Louisiana (SSBN 743), and USS Tennessee (SSBN 734).
Ashore assignments included key roles at TRIDENT Refit Facility Kings Bay, Submarine Squadron 20, and the Naval Submarine Support Center.
Upon retiring from active duty in 2006, Carmine chose to continue supporting the warfighter as a civilian member of the TRF-KB team.
Over the next two decades, he applied his technical expertise across several critical roles, including:
• Shop 67E: Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic
• Code 305 & Shop 620: Information Technology Specialist
• Code 741: IT Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Carmine’s hands-on experience was backed by academic excellence, holding both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Information Systems.
Having spent four decades ensuring the readiness of our silent service warships in support of our nation's critical mission, Carmine is stepping into a well-earned retirement. He plans to spend his free time enjoying life with his wife, Cathy, and their family.
