KBSRA's 979 feet of lakefront is the largest public access sandy beach on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. The wide stretch of white sand that makes up Kings Beach is a favorite of visitors and residents alike. Its south facing aspect and a lake floor that gradually deepens, makes this one of the warmest swimming areas on the Lake. The beach is adjacent to the Kings Beach Plaza (see description belo

w). A beautiful playground area overlooks the water and gives the kids a place to play after they have tired of playing in the Lake. One picnic area near the playground is available for rental by groups, but generally BBQ and picnic areas are available on a first come, first served basis.

California State Parks is Introducing a New Annual Park Pass for
Kings Beach State Recreation Area and Lake Tahoe Area Parks. Kings Beach State Recreation Area (SRA) and other Lake Tahoe area state parks have been added to the “California Park Experience” Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass.

The “California Park Experience” pass costs $75 and allows entry to ninety (90) state parks for a full year from date of purchase. In addition to Kings Beach SRA, the pass will also include entrance to the following Tahoe area state parks: Donner, Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine Point, DL Bliss and Emerald Bay. This pass also includes entrance to many Bay Area and Northern California parks along with some central and southern inland parks. Passes will be available at many state park locations where fees are collected and also available in our online store at http://store.parks.ca.gov/park-passes/.
