Kingsbury, Texas - As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 652 people, 252 households, and 193 families residing in the CDP. There were 269 housing units at an average density of 9.3/sq mi (3.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.48% White, 1.84% African American, 0.46% Native American, 4.14% from other races, and 1.07% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.65% of th

e population. There were 252 households out of which 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% weremarried couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.93.

Emergency Planning Workshop - July 18, 2026

Here’s a short recap of the discussions we had at last night’s City Hall Renovation Workshop.
These workshops are held every other Tuesday, 6pm at 7571 Kingsbury Rd, the site of our future town hall unless otherwise posted. Our next workshop is scheduled for July 27th at 6pm. The public is always welcome, but the building is not yet ADA compliant as we are still under construction. This coming Monday July 20th is our monthly City Commission Meeting 6:30pm at the Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department, 1060 FM 1104. The monthly meetings are the best time to bring your concerns and ideas to your elected city officials! Also this Saturday, July 18, we will have an emergency planning workshop to discuss an emergency planning document Mayor Shirley has been putting together. That will be at 10 am at the KVFD, 1060 FM 1104.

Artists and volunteers are busy at work now through Sunday creating a public art piece behind the new city hall! Come join in any day through Sunday! And/or come on down to the Benefit BBQ on Sunday, get a peek at our new Town Hall and see what these artists have been up to! 🙌..
In June, artists Leandra Urrutia and Misty Gamble come to Kingsbury to teach a series of workshops behind the new Town Hall at 7571 Kingsbury Road. Urrutia and Gamble are friends, collaborators, tenured professors in the Texas A&M system AND phenomenal artists. They are here through an NEA -Our Town grant to help us build Kingsbury’s very first public art piece.

Session 1: June 6 - 10
Session 2: June 11 - 14

11 am – 5 pm each day

Join us to learn ferrocement, sprigs from plaster molds, and tile making. Each day you will learn something different and you will have a hand in helping create a public art piece. RSVP at [email protected] for a detailed schedule!
