Kingsland Residents: Two Referendum Questions on the November 3 Ballot

Kingsland voters will see two City property tax exemption questions on the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot.

Homestead Exemption
If approved, increases in the assessed value of a qualifying homestead above its established base-year value would be exempt from City property taxes. New improvements would not be covered, and the exemption would not apply to property over five contiguous acres.

Senior Homestead Exemption
If approved, the qualifying age for the City's existing $25,000 senior homestead exemption would be lowered from 65 to 62 years old.
Both proposals would take effect January 1, 2027, if approved by voters.

The ballot will ask voters to choose YES or NO on each measure.

The City of Kingsland is providing this information to help residents understand the proposals. The City is not advocating for or against either measure.

Please review the ballot questions and make your voice heard on November 3!
