⚠️The Kingsland Police Department needs your help⚠️

The Kingsland Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals pictured below.

The two white male suspects (pictured below) entered the I.G.A. Market/Gas Station located at 500 S. Lee Street, Kingsland, GA 31548, where they purchased goods using counterfeit currency. The suspects then exchanged the fake currency for legitimate U.S. currency and merchandise, leaving the business without properly paying for the items obtained.

The two black males and the female pictured at the top of this post are considered persons of interest at this time. These individuals were observed entering and exiting the same vehicle as the suspects. The extent of their involvement is currently being investigated.

After leaving the store, the individuals walked to the nearby Circle K and entered what appeared to be a white Chevrolet Trax before traveling northbound on Highway 17.

If you recognize any of these individuals or have any information related to these incidents, please contact the Kingsland Police Department at (912) 729-8254 and ask to speak with Investigator Sergeant Mathis.

Thank you for helping us keep our community informed and safe.

Today, Chief Evans had the honor of swearing in our two newest civilian employees to the Kingsland Police Department family. Please help us welcome them to the team!

In the pink (center), we welcome E. Rao, who joins us with approximately two years of experience from the Sulphur Police Department, where she served as a Records Clerk assisting officers and civilians with day-to-day operations. During her time there, she also served as a Victim’s Advocate through a non-profit organization. Mrs. Rao is stepping into the role of Evidence Technician and will play a vital behind-the-scenes role assisting our officers with the handling and management of evidence and property.

In the blue shirt (left), we welcome A. Reed, who comes to us from our sister agency, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, where she served nearly 10 years in communications as a dispatcher. Many of you may have heard her voice when calling the emergency or non-emergency lines. Mrs. Reed has joined our department in a cadet capacity, assisting our administrative staff with daily operations as she prepares to attend the next police academy.

We are rooting for you, Mrs. Reed! Soon enough, you’ll be taking the next step toward becoming a Police Officer, and we look forward to watching your progress and success along the way.

Please join us in welcoming our newest team members to the Kingsland Police Department family!

🖤💙 End Of Watch – K9 Scarlett 💙🖤

05-22-2026

As the sun sets on this holiday weekend, it is with heavy hearts that the Kingsland Police Department announces the passing of former K9 Scarlett.

K9 Scarlett was a single purpose narcotics detection dog who proudly served the Kingsland Police Department for over 5 years. Scarlett began her career with KPD in 2014 and faithfully served our community until her retirement on 04-22-2019.

Following retirement, Scarlett spent the remainder of her years enjoying the life she deserved with her former handler, Captain Rafferty, and his family. Her days were filled with treats, walks, belly rubs, and the comfort of being a beloved family member.

Scarlett was more than just a K9 partner, she was part of the KPD family. Her loyalty, dedication, and service will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the Rafferty family during this difficult time.

“We may not have spent the rest of our lives with you, but we are honored to have spent the rest of your life with us.”

Rest easy, Scarlett. Thank you for your service. 🐾

*** Update - All suspects have been identified. Contact has been or is being made with all individuals. ***

WE NEED YOUR HELP.

The Kingsland Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the individuals shown in the provided photos. These three individuals are all suspects in separate shoplifting incidents that recently occurred at the Circle K located at 1211 E. King Ave., Kingsland, GA 31548, next to Waffle House.

Please note that we do not believe these suspects have any relation to one another; however, the incidents have all occurred recently at the same business location.

Investigators were also able to obtain a photo of Suspect #3’s vehicle. During that incident, Suspect #3 reportedly used a juvenile approximately 7 to 9 years old to assist in stealing items. We are not providing an image of the child in order to protect the child’s safety and privacy.

If you recognize any of these individuals or have any information related to any of these shoplifting cases, please contact the Kingsland Police Department at (912) 729-8254 and ask to speak with Investigator Sergeant Gonzalez.
