Yesterday at approximately 10:00AM, Paradise Emergency Services were dispatched, along with automatic aid agencies, to a report of a home on fire in Mayfield Township. First arriving units found heavy fire conditions and requested a second alarm, bringing additional agencies and personnel to the scene. Crews worked collaboratively bringing the situation under control and all units were cleared around 1:00PM..

One civilian was transported to the hospital for precaution and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

We would like to thank all of our neighboring partners who assisted our team: Blair Township Emergency Services , Northwest Wexford Emergency Authority, Green Lake Township Emergency Services, Long Lake Fire Rescue , Grand Traverse Metro Emergency Services Authority , Fife Lake Springfield Fire Department, Grand Traverse 911 , Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office and TC Towing.

🚒👶 Special Delivery at Paradise Township Fire Department! 👶🚒

Firefighters Schueller and Overzet of Paradise Twp Firefighters Local 5261 helped welcome a new life into the world in unforgettable fashion!

While en route to Munson Medical Center, mom and dad made a quick stop at the fire station when it became clear baby wasn’t willing to wait. Thanks to the quick actions and calm professionalism of our firefighters, a healthy baby girl was delivered safely right at the station.

Mom, baby, and dad are all doing well—congratulations to the proud family on their newest arrival!

Another reminder that our firefighters are always ready… for anything. ❤️🚑

Fire Yesterday at 1049am Paradise Twp. (Grand Traverse County) sends 2 Firefighters to Munson ER.

1st Alarm assignment dispatched to a fully involved garage fire in the 3000 Block of Mayfield Rd. Engine 22 arrived to find a 20x30 detached garage fully involved with extension into the house. The crew of 2 began fire suppression on the garage until Metro Tanker 9 crew arrived. At that time suppression efforts were focused on the house. A crew of 3 made an interior attack finding heavy fire conditions in the attic of the house. As crews pulled ceiling to access the fire on the C D side of the structure working toward the A side the C D side roof collapsed knocking firefighters to the ground. The interior crew was able to self extricate advised command of roof collapse and all interior crews were out of the house.
A third alarm was called to assist with the fire bringing 9 area departments in for mutual aid.
Crews remained on The scene for 6 hours to get the fire out.

Paradise Firefighters would like to thank all the mutual aid departments, County Dispatch , County Sheriff deputies and Cherry Land Electric for their assistance.
A special thank you to our sisters (Amy and Leah) from Blair Twp. 5a3 for transporting and taking exceptional care of our Firefighters. Thank you To the Trauma teams at Munson providing initial care on arrival and the Dr’s and ER staff once the firefighters were admitted into rooms.

Both Firefighters were treated and released 6 hours later with no long term complications.

Thank you to management for coming to Munson to check on Firefighters and getting them back to the station once released.
