As a pharmacist, I've always believed that the best prescription is the one you never have to write.
Federally qualified health centers are already the most trusted point of care for millions of rural Americans. But only about 25 percent of them offer meaningful nutrition services. That gap is costing us in health outcomes, family budgets, and lives.
That's why today I introduced legislation to bring evidence-based nutrition counseling directly into primary care at community health centers, prioritizing the communities hit hardest by diet-related chronic disease and food insecurity.
This is what the Make America Healthy Again agenda is all about: treating the cause, not just the consequence. More below:
