Have you caught our “Dark Matter Mystery – Exploring a Cosmic Secret” show in the planetarium theater?

“Dark Matter Mystery” is showing daily at 2 p.m. through August 31. This captivating program, originally shown in 2019, explores the greatest quest of contemporary astrophysics - the hunt for dark matter.

In this program you will learn why we know dark matter exists and how this search is one of the most challenging and exciting searches science has to offer. Join the scientists on their hunt for dark matter with experiments in space and deep underground. Will they be able to solve… the Dark Matter Mystery?

Thanks to the generosity of the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors (NETAR), everyone has FREE admission to Bays Mountain Park on August 16!

If you’ve never been to Bays Mountain Park or are looking for something fun to do outdoors, then take advantage of NETAR’s generosity and come out and enjoy the park next week.

Bays Mountain Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on August 16, while the nature center will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Go for a leisurely walk around the lake, take a short hike up the mountain, visit with the animals or let your children or grandchildren play on the new Fox Den playground. Be sure to check out the recently renovated gift shop and the new educational displays and dioramas in the Nature Center. Remember, there’s no wrong way to spend time at Bays Mountain Park.

NOTE – While gate fees will be waived all day on August 16, program fees (planetarium shows, barge rides) will still be in effect, and guests will have to pay those fees to participate.

Don't forget to sign up for Scenic Summer Planetarium Yoga, happening tomorrow, August 7 at 10 am!

All levels are welcome and encouraged as modifications will be offered. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. Class size is limited, so please sign up soon. Please also wear exercise clothing and bring water with a sealable lid (drinks that can spill are not allowed). Attendees are asked to bring their own mat though there will be some mats available to borrow.

Are you ready for more “Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon” soon?

Experience Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ like never before. This 45-minute program combines an incredible surround mix of the music with breathtaking views of the solar system and beyond.

Each song has a different theme with some futuristically looking forward and some a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history. Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon is a truly immersive experience that will transcend reality and take you beyond the realms of a 2-D experience.

Thanks to the generous support of the Bays Mountain Park Association, this program will be shown several times a month until the end of the year. Ticket prices are $10 per person for park members and $15 per person for non-members.

Beginners and experts alike will have all materials provided, including Bays Mountain-inspired templates for those who choose to color within the lines.
