From Washington County Constable Mike Gillespie "Today, while working in Washington County, I pulled up behind a WCSO deputy who had their emergency lights activated to see if they needed assistance.

A hit-and-run had just occurred. The victim was able to provide a description of the vehicle and the direction it had traveled. I told the deputy I would see if I could locate it.

I was able to locate the vehicle matching the description. I made contact with the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, and stayed on scene until units from the Jonesborough Police Department arrived.

The driver was ultimately charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.đźš”

This was a good example of what can happen when law enforcement works together. Sometimes it’s not complicated. You see something happening, you have the ability to help, and you do.🇺🇸"
